The Mentor Health clinic is a new approach to a primary care health home that involves a well-supported multi-disciplinary team with the patient as the center point. Relationships are a key element of the health home, and every role has a vital and valued part to play in the success the team. We believe that every activity that touches or supports a patient is important and should be a positive experience for both the patient and the provider. The Clinic Operations Coordinator will have a key role in supporting the operations of the Mentor Health Clinic.

Mentor Health Clinic is separate from but contracted to NSHealth. It is publicly funded - there are no patient fees. _Mentor_ means ‘experienced trusted advisor.’ The broad-based interprofessional and layperson clinic will 1. mentor one another 2. mentor patients 3. patients will mentor us.

**What does a Clinic Operations Coordinator Do'**

Quite honestly, a little bit of everything. With a new and developing model, the role of the Clinic Operations Coordinator will change and evolve over time and the right individual will have the ability to roll with this.

**Some of the Key Activities of the Clinic Operations Coordinator**:

- Reception:

- Greeting and registration of patients and updating demographic information.
- Review and follow up on phone messages and relaying to appropriate team members.
- Organize and prepare exam rooms and ensure each room is appropriately stocked with supplies.
- Provide other administrative support including faxing and copying documents and processing incoming and outgoing mail/faxes.
- Management of specimens and lab delivery.
- Coordination of documents and resources used by the clinic.
- Ordering and management of supplies for the Mentor Health Home and Mobile clinics.
- Coordination of clinic schedules as well as meetings, hotel and medical facility bookings
- Provides support to trouble shoot issues with printers, computers, and phone systems.
- Provides scheduling and coordination support for the Mentor Health Leadership team.
- Develops positive working relationships/partnerships with other disciplines, agencies, and health care professionals to promote coordinated service, quality care and access to appropriate resources for patients.
- Some provincial travel may be required as part of the mobile team.

- You are technologically savvy and know your way around computers, phone systems and other office devices. You also possess working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record Systems, ideally the Med Access EMR (Telus).
- You have experience working in a health care environment, particularly primary care/family practice.
