We are looking for a Strategic Analyst to support our Knowledge, Information and Technology Services. The Strategic Analyst would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

Under the direction of the Senior Strategic Advisor, actively leading projects for the Office of the CIO, e.g., preparing analysis, assisting in planning activities, conducting research and analysis on technologies and socio-economic trends affecting KITS, and helping define and implement stakeholder events to ensure effective program delivery, policy development and business operations enabling digital transformation and driving results for the NRC.

**The key activities for this position are the following**:

- Strategic level support for the development of relationships with key Branch stakeholders (OGDs, industry, national).
- Support the implementation of the Branch Strategy and plans, and monitoring and review of progress against objectives.
- Provide strategy advice on complex initiative files under the purview of CIO office.
- Manage projects on behalf of CIO office on Branch strategic and positioning issues.
- Research and prepare background material and briefings for the CIO office on sensitive issues, committee meetings, Branch stakeholders

**Screening Criteria**:
**Education**:
University degree in science, computer science, engineering, business/public administration, law, political sciences, economics, communications or in another field that is relevant to the duties of this position.

**Experience**:

- Significant experience in processes for tracking and reporting on organizational modernization and digital investment initiatives;
- Experience formulating advice and recommendations to the Senior Management and other members of the Executive Team to develop positions on policy, program initiatives and partnerships to sustain and advance the organization and wider Canadian research ecosystem;
- General experience creating designs, analyses and elaborate the framework for strategic discussion papers, project implementation plans, complex reports and briefing papers materials and for the collection of the information to be included;
- Experience in preparing complex written materials to advance the objectives of the Knowledge Information Technology Services branch including: strategic discussion papers, project implementation plans, complex reports and briefing papers.

Experience in managing projects will be considered an asset.

- Extensive knowledge of the principles and techniques of corporate level planning, business and/or strategy development in a government or business environment;
- Broad knowledge of the techniques of conducting research and analysis of complex materials, and the ability to provide meaningful advice or recommendations for actions to senior-level stakeholders;
- Broad knowledge of systems, processes and tools for capturing, organizing and selecting data for reports and for tracking the performance and progress of multiple initiatives/projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to research, analyze and summarize complex data and situations and communicate results and conclusions in a clear and compelling way;

Knowledge of the NRC, its mandate, organizational structure, programs and priorities, as well as those of KITS and CIO branch will be considered an asset.

Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.

**Compensation**:
From $57,220 to $161,754 per annum.

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
