**SCOPE**
Reporting to the Associate Vice-President of Information Systems and CIO, the incumbent manages the development and execution of AI and data strategies across multiple units, fostering a collaborative approach with academic, administrative, and operational teams to meet university-wide goals. This position also oversees a team dedicated to advancing Concordia’s digital transformation and ensuring the ethical use of AI and data.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop and execute a comprehensive AI and data analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with Concordia’s mission and values. Lead AI initiatives to enhance educational outcomes, operational efficiency, and research capabilities, maintaining a focus on equity and accessibility.
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Data Officer and key stakeholders across the university to foster a data-driven culture. Engage with internal and external partners to promote innovation and reinforce Concordia’s position as a leader in AI and analytics within higher education.
- Oversee data governance policies and AI ethical standards to support transparent, responsible, and inclusive technology integration. Collaborate with the CIO to ensure governance aligns with both regulatory standards and institutional values.
- Implement and oversee high-impact pilot projects that showcase AI’s transformative potential, including automation, predictive insights, and academic innovation.
- Provide technical leadership in identifying, evaluating, and integrating new AI and analytics tools to maintain Concordia’s competitive edge.
- Lead and develop a team focused on delivering AI and data-driven solutions, fostering an environment of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.
- Drive initiatives to increase AI literacy, organizing workshops, seminars, and training for faculty, staff, and students. Act as an advocate for AI and analytics adoption, creating accessible programs to broaden engagement across the university community.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring initiatives align with university priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Establish benchmarks and metrics to evaluate the impact of AI initiatives and track progress toward strategic goals.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science AI, or a related field with a minimum of ten years of experience in a strategic role focused on AI and data analytics, including at least five years in a leadership capacity.
- Postgraduate degree an asset.
- Experience managing AI and analytics within a higher education environment an asset.
- Demonstrated experience managing a large team of professionals, high-performing, cohesive team
- Demonstrated leadership experience building cross-organizational consensus with exposure to technology providers and/or business clients.
