Reporting to: Director, Corporate Quality Assurance

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:_
- Develop effective internal audit checklists that define the required elements for evaluating the Maintenance and Engineering, Flight Operations and Commercial Departments adherence to Canadian Aviation Regulations and Company policies, procedures and processes;
- Prepare & manage the Annual Audit Plan for the Maintenance Operations, Flight Operations and Commercial Department;
- Strategically manage department in compliance with Canadian North’s policies & vision;
- Develop, implement, lead & maintain continuous improvement initiatives;
- Identify opportunities to generate increased productivity & reduce waste/redundancies;
- Conduct scheduled and random audits at intervals set out in the Company Manuals;
- Ensure that findings resulting from an audit activity are distributed to the appropriate Director for corrective action;
- Maintain QA Database (AQD) current in respect of findings from initial and periodic audits, corrective actions, and follow-ups, and present at regular CAP meetings;
- Retain audit records for the greater of two audit cycles or two years;
- Liaise with Customers’ auditors, ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with Customers’ Flight Operation and Commercial findings;
- Maintain QA Airworthiness Directive review acceptance process;
- Liaise with Customer's auditors, ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with Customers' maintenance findings;
- Comply with the Safety Management System (SMS) reporting program and adhere to the Corporate Safety Policy;
- Report non-conformities to senior management team
- Conduct investigations when discrepancies are detected
- Report positive milestones to senior management team;
- Assume other duties, as assigned.
- Key Responsibilities

Legislated responsibilities this position holds:

- Responsible for liaising with regulatory authorities, original equipment manufacturers and other operationally relevant external entities as required;
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as well as internal policies and procedures.
- SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:_
- Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:_
- Two (2) years post secondary education;
- Three (3) years previous experience;
- Knowledge of general business management practices;
- Experience in budgeting, fiscal management, analysis;
- Good writing skills, report development;
- Good analytical skills, decision-making, time management;
- Adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines;
- Possess strong organizational & interpersonal skills;
- Strong leadership, organizational and customer service skills;
- Extensive knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations and Standards;
- Knowledge and experience with QA process mapping, analysis and detail;
- Knowledge and experience in audit, process review and audit;
- Knowledge and experience in measuring action;
- Ability to communicate in Inuktitut or other Indigenous language considered an asset;
- Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
