**About the Role**: Marketing, Communications and Donor Management Coordinator
The Marketing, Communications and Donor Management Coordinator will take the lead in organization awareness activities with an emphasis on coordinating events, including large scale donor events, developing print and online fundraising campaigns and materials, and soliciting and stewarding new and current donors.
As a member of the Fernie Youth Coordinator team, this individual will work collaboratively with other coordinators from other Fernie Youth programs and other Fernie Youth staff (as needed), and with the CEO directly, to set communications and donor management strategy, to execute delivery and to provide continuous improvement to all elements of Resource Development.
Key Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Manage third party providers to FYS, such as social media, graphic design, etc
- Translate strategic plans into quarterly workplans and deliverables to support execution of overall resource development plans.
- Build and maintain good relationships with multiple stakeholders within Fernie Youth Services and its partner, funder and donor network.
- Establish rapport with local media outlets to garner coverage of organizational endeavors.
- Act as a representative of the organization in engagements with funders and stakeholders within the community.
- Support cultivating and nurturing opportunities with prospective and current donors through seed and cultivation donor campaigns, including holiday campaigns.
- Write compelling copy and narratives that effectively communicate the organization's mission, values, and impact.
- Conduct interviews with clients, staff, and funders to gather testimonials and personal stories that highlight the organization's impact.
- Ensure timely and personalized acknowledgment of donor contributions, managing donor records, gift processing, and generating accurate reports.
- In collaboration with the CEO and Leadership team, design, develop and deliver the FYS Annual Report.
- Record, maintain, and ensure data integrity within records, required paperwork and documentation. Ensure donor and funder files and data are organized and kept confidential.
- Create yearly operational plans for marketing, communications and donor management, in alignment with direction from the CEO and best practices in the field.
- Privacy, data collection and media consent: understand current FYS policies, forms and practices for privacy, data collection and media consent; suggest adaptations based on program and contractual requirements with funders.
**About You**: Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Degree or diploma in marketing, communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of previous experience in marketing, communications, fundraising, or donor relations within a nonprofit or similar organization.
- Experience developing and executing resource development plans.
- Experience in organizing events to promote organizational awareness and engagement.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with donors, partners, media, and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and experience in leveraging them for organizational outreach and awareness campaigns, including key metrics and reporting.
- Experience with managing contract requirements for partners and funders for acknowledgement and recognition.
- Ability to use multiple technologies for content development, grant and donor management, such as Sumac, Bloomerang, MailChimp, Canva, etc.
