**Multi Skilled Operator (MSO) Level 1**

Job Overview: The MSO Level 1 is an entry-level position focused on foundational data center operations. This role combines basic physical security tasks with initial technical support and basic facility maintenance responsibilities. The MSO Level 1 is essential in ensuring the data center's daily operations run smoothly, providing support across security, technical, and facility functions.

**Responsibilities**:

- Access Control: Monitor and control access to the data center, verifying identities and enforcing security protocols.
- Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct routine physical and virtual patrols to detect and report security risks or suspicious activities.
- Basic Technical Support: Provide initial remote and on-site support for basic hardware and network issues.
- Hardware Assistance: Assist with the installation, configuration and routine maintenance of servers and networking equipment.
- Incident Response: Respond to basic security incidents and emergencies, escalating issues as needed.
- Environmental Monitoring: Assist in monitoring environmental parameters such as temperature and humidity, reporting any anomalies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs and records for access control, incidents and basic maintenance activities.
- Training and Development: Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in data center operations.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Basic knowledge of site facility infrastructure regarding power, thermal management, and associated systems.
- This is an intermediate-level facility-focused position for a person with an aptitude to learn and grow in the field of technical operations and maintenance support of electrical and HVAC systems.
- Good observation skills and problem-solving ability.
- Place SAFETY at the top of anything and everything that they do - without fail.
- Focus on the tasks and activities given to them and remain consistently focused on SAFETY.
- Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines and ensuring uptime.
- A penchant for leading projects and can work autonomously under the customer's direction, written or verbal, on servers/routers/switches.
- Perform their professional duties as a member of a team, as a leader, peer and a follower, depending on the situation, and work competently and calmly under pressure.
- Handle circumstances that are outside their comfort zone in a clear and methodical manner without impacting services and safety.
- Follow instructions as provided in SOPs, MOPs and EOPs (“xOPs”).
- Speak up and contribute constructively and professionally when matters do not look correct and when there is any possibility of site impact, especially regarding safety.
- Evaluate their own deliverables and performance, and those of others, in the relentless pursuit of continuous operational improvement.
- Willingness to enhance existing skill set.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to logically analyze, isolate and resolve site and customer-facing service issues. Proficient in monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
- Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
- Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
- Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
- Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
