Residential Building Cleaner

A Condominium Corporation in East York, is looking to hire a staff member for Cleaning Department. It is a unionized Position

The Cleaner will be responsible for keeping buildings in clean and orderly condition, and will perform heavy cleaning duties, such as:

- Cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, cleaning and stocking restrooms, washing walls, glass and upholstered furniture, and
- Removing rubbish. Cleaning, stocking and supplying designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning
- Ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc.)
- Prepare for the garbage/recycle/organic and bulk pick up multiple times per week.
- Complete daily work orders - plumbing, electrical and exterior repairs
- Maintain all common areas and report any deficiencies to the PM
- Check and replace all interior/exterior lights as necessary
- Check and clean boiler room (for temperatures, leaks,motor/pump noise), compactor room, fire alarm panel, electrical motors, sprinkler system, common door function.
- Keep logbooks up-to-date and control inventory for parts used and ordered
- Inspect and clean drain, covers, compactor and bins
- Providing exceptional customer service to residents and potential residents
- Support and supervise contractors
- Assists with inventory control
- Thoroughly clean common area of the property including lobbies, laundry room and washroom, elevator cab, garbage chute and garbage rooms, including mopping and vacuuming all floors, runners and furniture using designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment
- Performs job duties using safety guidelines and reports obstacles in doing so
- Remove debris on every floor and dispose of all pamphlets and flyers from the mailroom, lobby area, and garbage receptacles
- Performing and documenting routine inspection and maintenance activities
- Driving the small truck to move garbage bins around
- Other duties as assigned by the Cleaning Supervisor or the property Management.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in residential building cleaning or facilities maintenance is preferred.
- **G Driver's License is required**:

- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
- Strong time management skills to ensure efficient completion of duties
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills to interact with client and team members

**Your team and working environment**:

- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying at least 30 lbs
- Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
- Evening and weekend working hours
