**Lycopodium **is currently recruiting for a Project Buyer to join our growing Project Services Group (PSG) in Mississauga, Ontario.

Reporting to the Procurement and Contracts Manager the Project Buyer will provide support to the Project Services Group (PSG) or a specific project, in the areas of procurement, purchasing, expediting, cost control, and transport and logistics.

**The tasks you'll perform**
- Perform all dealings with clients, suppliers, manufacturers and freight company personnel professionally, ethically and efficiently, to ensure the highest possible service levels.
- Communicate openly, professionally, ethically and efficiently at all times with all internal customers to ensure that the highest customer service level is achieved.
- Adhere to the various project specific and company procedures, work practices, plans, systems and protocols required to work efficiently, and maintain a consistent approach and high standard of work.
- Responsible and accountable for all expediting functions as directed by the Procurement & Contracts Manager and/or Project Manager.
- Responsible and accountable for all logistics functions as directed by the Procurement & Contracts Manager and/or Project Manager.
- Ensure all assigned purchasing processes are followed strictly in accordance with documented and authorised company procedures.
- To be assigned on a Project specific basis, and in accordance with Company policies and guidelines..

**The expertise you'll bring**
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in purchasing, expediting, transport and logistics disciplines in mining, minerals, engineering, or construction industries.
- Projects experience with demonstrable procurement, purchasing, expediting, cost control, and transport and logistics knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills, written, electronic and verbal.
- High degree of professional ethics.
- Initiative, self motivation and the ability to work without supervision.
- A sound knowledge of international and local purchasing practices.
- A sound knowledge of international and local tendering and contract laws regulations and practices.
- A sound knowledge of international freight laws, regulations and practices together with domestic transporting practices and regulations.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- High-level negotiating skills.
- Qualifications in a purchasing discipline.
- A sound knowledge of business mathematics and statistical techniques.
- Technical and mechanical aptitude.
