**The Barrie Rowing Club is largely a recreational rowing club with the aim of providing rowing programs for youth and adults in the community.**

**Primary Responsibilities**:
The Barrie Rowing Club Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day implementation, structure, and operation of all Barrie Rowing Club rowing programs. These include but are not limited to daily member practices,Intro2Row courses, Adult League and Youth Rowing sessions. This position will report to the BRC Board of Directors or the appointed staff coordinator. Our goal is to recruit, develop and produce a community of active-for-life rowers and competitive rowers, the latter of whom compete and succeed at local and regional regattas.

Examples of typical tasks include:

- assisting with registration and membership administration
- host & oversee staff for all Into2Row, Adult League, Youth Rowing and Summer/Annual Membership rowing programs.
- Contribute to the upkeep and development of the Barrie Rowing Club communications (website and social media)
- Where needed, this position will also support other Barrie Rowing Club staff with their daily tasks
- The focus will be supporting participants and members while at the club house or on land. There is no requirement to go on the water.

The individual who fills this position could work from home for up to 10 hours per week, provided there is a strong internet connection and an ability to work independently. The distribution of hours within the workweek can be flexible in order to work around other commitments the employee may have but should be clearly communicated in advance and generally consistent week to week.

**Qualifications Required**:

- Knowledge of and/or experience rowing or other organized sports
- Rowing Canada Learn to Row (LTR) Instructor coaching course completed (training will be provided)
- Excellent customer service experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Flexibility and ability to work hard
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated management experience
- Willingness to get directly involved in BRC activities and programs
- Self-motivated / willing to take initiative / problem-solver
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Familiarity with social media
- Ability to work independently, with mínimal supervision
- First Aid, CPR are an asset;
- Bronze Cross an asset
- Marketing background is an asset

**Position Type**:

- Full-time work (30-40 hrs/week) between May 1 and Sept. 2, 2024. Part-time work between April 15-30, 2024. *Part-time contract extension into the fall and winter contingent upon club funding availability.
- Daytime, evening, and weekend hours are required but there is some flexibility.

**Dates**: May 1, 2024-September 15, 2024

Contract length: 4 months

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Sport program: 2 years (preferred)
