**Overview**

We are seeking a qualified **Student Financial Aid Officer** to join our Business or Education program. You will play a crucial role in assisting students with the financial aspects of their education, particularly in navigating the complexities of student loans. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students by helping them secure the necessary funding to pursue their academic endeavors.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide comprehensive and accurate information to students regarding available financial aid programs, scholarships, grants, and loans.
- Evaluate students' financial information and determine eligibility for different types of financial aid.
- Conduct workshops, presentations, and information sessions to educate students and staff about financial aid options, processes, and resources.
- Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to student inquiries, resolving issues, addressing concerns, completing necessary forms, understanding award letters, and managing their financial aid packages.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as admissions and registrar, to ensure a seamless and coordinated student experience.
- Supporting with the completion of the day-to-day responsibilities of the Student Finance team, to support the corporate strategic imperatives.
- Contributing to a positive corporate culture that supports equity, inclusion, learning, and wellness.
- Performing other administrative tasks around the school as needed.

**Requirements**:

- Experience in Student Services, Financial Aid, Collections, or Customer Service
- Strong attention to detail, accurate data entry and ability to follow through
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field preferred
- Experience working in fast paced settings and ability to handle confidential information
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven excellent English proficiency (oral and written)
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Patience and the ability to work well with diverse groups of students
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with other team members
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- A positive attitude and presentable appearance
- Good interpersonal skills and organizational skills
- Demonstrate multicultural sensitivity and awareness

**Salary**: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
