**Your opportunity**:
Reporting to and working under the general direction of the Assistant Dean, Field Education, the Practicum Coordinator will be responsible for providing a broad range of high-level management support to the Practicum Office at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. Major duties include: working with students and field instructors to promote positive practice learning experiences for students; develop productive partnerships with social service, policy and health organizations to enhance the quality of field education; provide leadership in accessing new field sites; develop and maintain quality field partners; In facilitating links between FIFSW and field partners, the Practicum Coordinator would be responsible for resolving disputes and difficulties encountered by any parties, as well as negotiating and preparing contracts with field partners. The successful incumbent will be collaborating with the Assistant Dean, Field Education to develop strategies in order to facilitate student success. Office management duties include: establishing priorities and managing workflow in the office, participating on various faculty committees as assigned, and coordinating new systems initiatives and projects related to Practicum courses. Other duties include: acting as a resource for all office related matters and policies and practices within the Practicum Office, overseeing front-line assistance and responding to all non-routine and complex inquiries from students and other relevant stakeholders, and developing and/or enhancing databases. The successful incumbent will be critical to provide support to students and field instructors to promote a positive learning experience for the student.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Fostering and maintaining positive relations with stakeholders to support student placement activities
- Overseeing a system that selects and matches students to a placement rotation
- Conducting work-term site visits
- Resolving issues within the scope of the role and escalating problems as required
- Conducting detailed analysis on program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning activities
- Advising students on program and/or course matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual's background
- Planning and implementing workflow for a group

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Master's degree in Social Work is required
- Minimum five years of experience facilitating student placements and/or supporting program development in the education, health and/or social science field
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining relationships with community networks and partnerships
- Experience planning and coordinating events, meetings, presenting, and facilitating workshops
- Knowledge of workplace standards and experience gained through roles in administration or management
- Experience with negotiation and conflict resolution to resolve practicum or student-related issues
- Highly developed computer skills including experience with MS Office Suite and a variety of software programs and databases; desire and ability to learn new technologies quickly to assist with coordinating new system initiatives
- Familiarity with a wide range of social service and health organizations in the GTA
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, while working under pressure and tight timelines
- Strong attention-to-detail
- Demonstrated tact and diplomacy in dealing with a variety of people including students and field instructors
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong ability to analyze current processes and recommend changes for improvement
