Oil sands development is an important component of CNOOC International’s global portfolio. In Canada, CNOOC Petroleum North America has interest in more than 300,000 acres in the Athabasca region - one of the largest deposits of Canadian oil reserves, where we use technologically advanced production processes such as Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD). Our Long Lake facility, located in northern Alberta just south of Fort McMurray, began producing in 2008 and is a SAGD-only operation for the interim, with production capacity of around 72,000 barrels of bitumen a day.

Therefore, we are seeking a **Coordinator - Environmental** to join our growing team in** Fort McMurray, Alberta.** This dynamic role will be instrumental in driving the safety of our day-to-day operations and the overall performance of our facility.

**Your Background**:

- University Degree or Diploma in the physical or natural sciences, or environment technology.
- Minimum 7 years’ work experience directly related to field coordination in the environmental field.
- Experience in the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Working knowledge and experience with provincial and federal regulatory requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills are a must.
- Self-motivated with excellent organization skills.

**Your Role with Our Team**:

- Contractor Management & Supervision (of environmental contractors).
- Groundwater Sampling & Monitoring.
- Industrial Run-Off and Surface Water Management (sampling, monitoring, pump-off supervision, and reporting).
- Waste Management (Segregation, Manifesting and Reporting).
- Weed & Vegetation Management.
- Wetlands Monitoring & Reporting.
- Wildlife Monitoring & Reporting.
- Air Emissions Monitoring Management & Reporting.
- Non-Compliance Reporting.
- Communication and training of CNOOC staff and contractors specific to environment principles and best practices.
- Ensure that all environmental management standards and procedural aids, pertaining to all aspects of Oil Sands, are followed for existing operation and project work.
- Assuring that all EPEA (Environmental Protection Enhancement Act) approval, monitoring programs reporting is completed on time and accurately.
