**Environmental Coordinator - Regulatory & Waste Management**

**The Opportunity**:
Canadian Natural has an exciting opportunity for a highly personable, detail oriented, and organized environmental professional to ensure regulatory requirements and commitments are fulfilled and to oversee the on-site waste management program at our Albian Sands Mine. In this role, you will use your strong communication skills to interface with regulatory agencies, provide regulatory advice and waste management guidance to Operations, and ensure timely regulatory reporting.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Primary contact for Regulatory communication and correspondence
- Track regulatory communication, commitments, and correspondence
- Complete and submit internal performance and external regulatory reporting
- Facilitate/coordinate site inspections with regulatory agencies and respond to site incidents and inspection reports
- Review technical reports prior to submission
- Keep informed on Federal and Provincial legislation that might impact operations and communicate updates
- Provide support and backup for environment team members and participate in the 24-hr Environment On-Call and Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) to support incident response
- Maintain the waste management plan and oversee waste management contractors
- Ensure accurate waste management records are collected, stored, and reported
- Provide waste management education and support, including direction on how to reduce, recycle and reuse materials
- Develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Represent Canadian Natural at multi-stakeholder committees as required

**Other Details**:

- Job location: Fort McMurray, AB - Albian Oil Sands site
- Shift schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off - Monday to Thursday, 10 hours per day
- Eligible for relocation pursuant to Canadian Natural’s Relocation Regular Policy
- Company sponsored fly-in/fly-out from Calgary and Edmonton

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- A degree in Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Hydrology, or a related technical diploma with extensive work experience, preferably in oil sands
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean drivers abstract
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
