**Your Opportunity**

A major part of the mandate of the Temerty Faculty of Medicine is to provide professional support for the recruitment, appointment, promotion and retention of the Faculty’s over 9,000 faculty members.

As Assistant Director, Academic Human Resource Services, you will work as a key partner in defining and accomplishing the academic HR goals and objectives of the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. Working in close collaboration with the Director, Academic Human Resource Services, you will play a critical role in leading projects and developing resources and tools aimed to improve the quality and integrity of our academic HR processes and faculty data. Your strong relationship management skills and mastery of applicable policies and collective agreements will enable you to develop targeted training programs, lead investigations, provide counsel to our academic and administrative leadership, and oversee a team of Advisors to ensure the effective administration of University academic processes. Your proven ability to evaluate processes, identify vulnerabilities and obstacles, and navigate a highly complex, decentralized ecosystem will help us enhance our efficiency and effectiveness and reinforce data-driven decision making.

**Qualifications**
- Graduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5-6 years’ related experience in a university environment, including a deep familiarity with the academic HR life cycle, tenure process, and University academic HR norms
- Sound knowledge of collective agreement interpretation and administration
- Demonstrated experience in managing a range of competing interests in the development and coordination of policy in a highly complex organization
- Proven experience leading change and driving results through process evaluation and redesign
- Experience developing and leading high functioning teams, including the ability to engage and motivate staff and project teams
- Demonstrated experience in liaising with senior leaders, responding to and handling matters of a complex, confidential and sensitive nature
- Proven experience facilitating solutions in conflict situations and providing coaching support to managers
- Data-driven with experience using various tools, performance metrics and approaches for analysis, decision-making and reporting
- Strong technical skills, including knowledge of the University of Toronto’s Administrative Management System (AMS) and a facility for working with project management tools and keep current with new and emerging technologies
- Demonstrated commitment to the promotion of equity in the workplace and an ability to work effectively with all constituents in a highly diverse community
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, service orientation and proven ability to resolve complex problems
- Ability to establish credibility and work with senior faculty officers and academic leaders in a manner that facilitates discussion and agreement on principles, and be viewed as a trusted advisor
- Advanced consulting skills, with the ability to work across the organization to influence decisions for a positive outcome
- Experience providing strategic advice in relation to change management processes by evaluating risk and anticipating operational and HR impacts/problems
- Ability to manage multiple, competing and frequently changing priorities
- Proven capacity to think in systems terms and develop and implement process and system improvements
