Are you a strategic business thinker with the ability to translate complex business challenges into actionable project plans? Are you motivated by the opportunity to lead and support business process or transformational initiatives essential to the achievement of organizational and community outcomes?

The Building Services Department is looking for a Strategic Business Advisor who will work closely with homeowners, designers contractors as well as industry stakeholders, on developing an energy efficiency program to reduce environmental impacts in support of the Town’s Climate Action Plan.

Building Services is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Building Code Act and the Ontario Building Code.

Reporting to the Chief Building Official, the Strategic Business Advisor will be responsible for the design and implementation of energy efficiency programs and initiatives. Collaborating with local government agencies and industry stakeholders, the Strategic Business Advisor will ensure that the programs are aligned with broader municipal sustainability goals.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**

As the Strategic Business Advisor you will:

- Support the development of programs, business plans and strategic department initiatives specific to this project.
- Utilize data to analyze and make recommendations for improvements to the department’s business processes with a focus on identifying efficiencies and improving service delivery.
- Provide project management support in the development and implementation of departmental initiatives and policies, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating staff and resources for the project.
- Prepare reports and make presentations and other communication materials to share progress, achievements and best practices with stakeholders and the public.
- Liaise with key community stakeholders and form partnerships for energy efficiency initiatives.
- Undertake research and identify best practices on energy efficiency, and sustainability initiatives that will enable performance enhancements and improve client satisfaction.
- Utilize project management techniques and principles to track project success rates.
- Provide assistance and support to the other staff in Building Services as required.

**How do I qualify?**

The following would be considered assets:

- Knowledge and understanding of legislation, regulations and policies that direct and support building code regulatory services in a municipal government.
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
- Certified Change Management Professional designation.
- Certification in Business Analysis or Analytics would be an asset, e.g. CCBA, CBAP.
- Lean Six Sigma certification.

You are an experienced professional with a comprehensive knowledge of:

- Data analysis and reporting for evidence based decision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
