As the Supervisor, Roads and Stormwater Services you will plan and direct work associated with winter control and maintenance associated with roads, roadside drainage and storm sewer infrastructure in the Roads and Fleet Division through the effective and efficient deployment of physical and human resources.

You have an OSSD or equivalent plus post-secondary Construction/Engineering program of at least three (3) years or equivalent experience. You also have at least (3) years related supervisory experience in infrastructure operations. You possess or are working towards Certified Engineering Technician (CET) designation and Certification as a Roads Supervisor. You have applied, technical knowledge of road and storm water infrastructure construction and maintenance techniques including trenching/shoring, confined space entry and heavy equipment operation. You organize, lead and direct others in attaining corporate goals by setting high performance standards while exercising sound judgment and good public relations skills.

Compensation includes an annual salary of $90,538 - $108,663, including a comprehensive health, benefit and pension package.

**Position Objective**

To plan and direct work associated with winter control and maintenance associated with roads, roadside drainage and storm sewer infrastructure in the Roads and Fleet Division through the effective and efficient deployment of physical and human resources.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

1. Continually promote a strong culture of safety through daily safety discussions, review and development of job safety assessments, ensuring staff receive required training for all machinery and equipment being utilized and observing safety practices through onsite inspections.

2. Maintain high customer satisfaction by regularly interacting with both internal and external stakeholders and providing timely responses and accurate guidance and maintaining accurate customer records through the corporate customer relationship management software.

3. Responsible for implementing and utilizing digital maintenance management systems to interpret workforce and operational needs, ensure and tracking and documentation is complete and to continually optimize operational activities by reviewing/analyzing workflow information to ensure productivity, quality and efficiency are being achieved.

4. Responsible for overseeing winter control operations performed by Town forces and contractors to ensure all relevant provincial and municipal regulations, standards and levels of service are achieved.

5. Responsible for all maintenance activities associated with municipal roads and right of ways to ensure compliance with all applicable provincial and municipal standards and levels of service including maintaining and responding to requests for service related to roadside ditches, boulevards, sidewalks, regulatory signs, street signs, traffic signals, roadway grading and pot holes.

6. Responsible for all maintenance and rehabilitation activities associated with storm sewer infrastructure including initiating, reviewing and recommending repairs of storm sewers based on CCTV inspections and overseeing rehabilitation and repairs completed to meet provincial and Town construction standards and specifications.

7. Tendering contracts and performing contract administration and inspection functions including the development and implementation of specifications related to tenders, quotations and requests for proposal for operational and capital programs and projects including winter control, pavement marking, catch basin cleaning, storm sewer rehabilitation, dust suppressant, street sweeping, curb cutting, crack sealing, street lights and asphalt utility cut reinstatements.

8. Development of project budgets and estimates and continuous review of project spending to ensure works are completed within approved budgetary limits.
