Nokiiwin Tribal Council requires one (1) experienced, knowledgeable, and motivated **Health Safety & Wellness Advisor.** Working in a team centered environment, and reporting to the Community Development Manager, the Health Safety &
Wellness Advisor will work alongside the Health & Safety Advisor and the G’minoomaadozimin Steering Committee to develop mental health practices, supports and resources in accordance with Anishnaabe Culture and practices for
Nokiiwin member First Nation communities.

**Summary of duties**:

- Facilitate services that assists member First Nation workplaces improve health and wellbeing
- Support the implementation of psychological health and safety within the workplace in accordance with CSA-Z1003 Standard, including traditional and cultural aspects of the Anishinaabe
- Guide and support alongside the Health and Safety Advisor the implementation of the WSIB Health and Safety Excellence Program
- Facilitate the process in collaboration with membered communities of the WSIB Health and Safety Excellence Program
- Administer Nokiiwin Tribal Council Health and Safety Excellence Program Provider processes.
- Arrange consultants and/or provide training services on workplace wellness
- Consult on priorities, develop workplans and budgets
- Seek innovative solutions, pursue additional resources, measure success
- Build a central source of information, maintain professional networks and advocate on behalf of communities

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with project management and project management principles
- Knowledge of mental health and lateral violence realities from a First Nation community and organizational context
- Experience working with Nokiiwin First Nations communities and organizations
- Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code and the Occupational Health and Safety ActStrong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Strong documentation capacity with the ability to meet stringent deadlines
- Experience with facilitation and community engagement
- Mental Health First Aid and/or Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is an asset
- Experience in the delivery of workshops and training
- Experience with business writing and communications
- Possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in one of the fields: psychology, social work, sociology, nursing and/or business administration with proven experience in project management.
- Experience with liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Must be computer literate including MS Office and internet use
- Fluency in Anishinaabe, knowledge and appreciation of Anishinaabe culture and heritage are assets
- Valid drivers license and current satisfactory criminal reference check is required
- Ability to travel to and work in Nokiiwin communities
- Successful completion of a Level 1: Police Criminal Reference Check
