Theatre and Touring Assistant

**Job Summary**: This position is funded through Ontario’s Job Creation Partnerships (see more details below). The incumbent will work closely with the Artistic Director and the General Manager in the 2024 season preparation and tour wrap up.

**The Opportunity**:

- Assist with planning, arrangements, logistics and finances of the rehearsal and tour
- Maintain filing systems/registers as required for documents, including photographs, surveys, and reports
- Assist in the implementation of marketing and communication activities, including social media
- Conduct community outreach based on the developed strategy
- Assist with recruiting, scheduling, training, coordinating and retaining volunteers
- Assist with arranging and hosting special events for festival partners
- Assist with developing the play bill and its associated materials during rehearsals
- Enter data into systems such as Quickbooks, Google Docs and other computer systems
- Provide administrative assistance, bill reconciliation and all other duties as assigned

**Skills and Qualifications Desired**:

- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, establish work priorities and work independently/in team
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and to work under pressure in dynamic environment
- Possess strong communication & diplomacy skills - written, verbal and face-to-face
- Possess leadership and organizational skills - and a sense of humour
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise effectively with clients
- Flexible to work an occasional evening or weekend for prearranged festival events
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work comfortably in various computer software

**Additional Qualifications Required**:
Eligible to participate in Ontario’s Job Creation Partnership (JCP) program by meeting the following criteria:
1. An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week.

2. to be considered, part-time students seeking full time employment are eligible to apply.

3. Live in Ontario.

4. Legally authorized to work in Canada.

5. Have one, or both, of the following criteria:
a. Previously established an Employment Insurance (EI) benefit claim (regular benefits within the last three years or maternity/parental within the last five years), and/or

b. Previously employed in Canada in five of any the last ten calendar years while earned a gross income in excess of $2000 in each calendar year.

**Remuneration**:
$662 (gross) per week provided by the Province of Ontario ($20.6875 based on 32 hours per week).

**Salary**: $20.69 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
