The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified Theatre Practitioner to teach Introduction to the Practice of Theatre: Onstage. This is a regular part-time professor position that requires a strong background in theatre and teaching experience at the university or conservatory level.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Introduction to the Practice of Theatre: Onstage, emphasizing performance elements and linking theory with practice through weekly laboratory sessions.
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the program's goals and objectives.
- Assess student learning and provide feedback.
- Supervise teaching assistants.
- Contribute to the development of the theatre program.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of the practical aspects of theatre.
- Some advanced study in theatre or professional theatre experience.
- Solid grounding in dramatic literature.
- Teaching experience at the university or conservatory level.
- Capacity to supervise a teaching assistant.
- Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English.
Additional Information
An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
