A bit about the job:
The Investment Controls team within Investment Operations are responsible for maintaining a strong control environment ensuring that financial transactions resulting from the Unit Pricing Operations processes are completely and accurately recorded in the Aviva PLC and Aviva UK Life & Pensions Ltd Financial Statements. The team also ensure that month end ledger close processes meet high quality standards and are delivered in short timescales.

The Investment Controls team provide an insight into the quality of operational controls and ensure that the Unit Pricing processes remain robust, minimising the risk of unit pricing errors and the consequential impact that may have on Unit Linked customers.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Provision of data including GL accounting entries and analysis to other parts of the business including Accounting Reporting and Actuarial Reporting.
- Performance of key control and suspense account reconciliations ensuring differences are identified and actions put in place to correct issues at source.
- Reconciliation of other key data items (stock holdings; unit movements) to provide assurance as to the quality of financial data.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

- Proficient in numeracy and problem solving together with strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Able to collaborate & work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work efficiently, under time pressure without compromising on accuracy, whilst also being able to quickly adapt to change
- Progress towards an accounting qualification is desirable
