Overview:
**(4-month term from May to August)**

Compelled by our desire to become a globally recognized top tier regulatory agency, we are currently seeking an energetic and collaborative individual to join our team as a Student in our Engagement, Digital & Creative Services department. The Public Affairs Division focuses on the OEB’s consumer and corporate communications-related initiatives as well as employee communications. It is responsible for increasing the organization’s visibility, building consumer trust, and sharing information to support consumer protection.

If you enjoy working with a group of professionals dedicated to working co-operatively with stakeholders to help build a modern regulator with sustained public trust in Ontario’s natural gas and electricity sectors, you’ll enjoy being a member of this team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Bring forward your creative ideas and better approaches and contribute to the evolution of an organization that is modernizing to become more efficient, effective, and transparent to the people and organizations it serves.
- Work with internal clients to mine content and tell engaging stories targeted to internal and external audiences across a range of tactics including for event materials, newsletters, website, social platforms, etc.
- Support logístical and strategic planning for employee and stakeholder events (virtual and in-person)
- Research content and support the creation of briefing notes and presentations
- Evolve and support the social media strategy and Stakeholder Engagement Framework
- Support reactive and proactive Media Relations activities
- Support evaluation/analytics reporting

Qualifications:

- Pursuing formal studies in marketing, digital, graphic design, communications, or public relations
- An interest in public policy, the energy sector and government
- Superior writing and grammar skills
- Knowledge of popular social media platforms (blogs, Twitter, LinkedIn, Hootsuite and monitoring software etc.)
- Graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite or similar) and MS Office skills
- Extremely organized with strong project management skills with attention to detail
- Fast learner who can adapt complex concepts to simple ones
