**Job description**

We are a family medicine/specialist clinic seeking an experienced, motivated, professional individual to join our team. Must enjoy working closely with others, be versatile with the changing needs of the day or week, and putting patients first.

This is a reception role with assisting other team members, as needed.

Preferred experience with EMR required particularly Healthquest.

Within a multidisciplinary team, and as experience and training allow, you will be working collaboratively to:

- Complete patient registration, appointment bookings, re-bookings, cancellations as necessary
- Greet incoming patients, ensuring that all patients are screened for Covid as provincial regulations require
- Ensure that all phone calls, faxes and other forms of communication, queries and concerns are answered and re-directed as necessary
- Review and process incoming faxes and other documentation related to referrals, recalls and consultations
- Process mail
- Collect payments for uninsured services and issue receipts
- Prioritize and complete tasks from physicians according to urgency
- Send reply faxes for incoming referrals and track accepted referral
- Ensure Patient confidentiality at all times
- Check inventory and advise management of purchases as needed
- Assign patients to Exam rooms
- Autoclave equipment
- Cleaning duties as necessary
- Other clinical and administrative tasks

On occasion, as needed:

- Stock and clean exam rooms
- Prep exam room for sterile procedures when requested
- Provide instructions to patients (as directed) upon request
- Perform Blood pressure, Height and Weight measurements
- Complete forms and documentation related to specimens, tests, etc.
- Assist patients with completing forms as needed, including surgical bookings

Required skills:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, execution and organization skills
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence
- Ease with computers, ability to learn new software quickly (or possess previous experience with Healthquest)
- Ease with managing telephone system, printer, copier and fax machine
- Ability to adapt well to often-changing environment
- Must thrive in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Be able to work autonomously with mínimal supervision

**Qualifications**
- Experience as an MOA or as a Healthcare receptionist (dental, chiropractic, physiotherapy or medical office)
- Proficiency in HealthQuest EMR would be an asset.

Job Types available: Part time

**Salary**: $17 - 20 per hour
- Salary is based on experience, qualifications and skill set (ex. Nursing or NA or HCA or Healthquest experience)
