**The opportunity**:
We are seeking a Program Coordinator to help grow and implement the IdeaStart program across the UM.

The IDEA START program is the Office of the Vice-President (Research and International)’s newest initiative that will serve as UM’s dedicated hub for entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity in all its forms. It is open to all UM community members including Researchers, Students, Faculty, Staff and Alumni who have ideas to directly impact their personal growth, industry, and community.

Its vision is to create an interdisciplinary culture of entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity that is accessible, empowering, impactful, and leading to societal change.

IdeaStart builds and expands on the existing entrepreneurial strength and support structures developed at the University, addressing existing barriers to accessing these and acknowledges the need to remove hurdles resulting from the traditional disciplinary innovation ecosystems to maximize knowledge mobilization, societal impact, and benefit.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- Undergraduate degree in either business administration, commerce, engineering, communications, or a related field required.
- Must have two years of experience in an account management or program coordination role.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Previous experience in the role of Program Coordinator or Associate within a Startup Incubation Centre is a definite asset.
- Experience navigating and working with the Indigenous community would be an asset. Experience with graphic design software is considered an asset. Previous experience with Zoom, Slack, and knowledge portals is considered an asset. Working across multi-disciplinary teams within a Startup is considered an asset.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Excellent problem-analysis and solving skills required.
- Understanding of general office procedures required.
- Superior interpersonal, management, and organizational skills required.
- A high degree of tact, diplomacy, and professionalism is needed in daily contacts with senior University personnel, Faculty members, UM staff, industry partners, and external agencies required.
- Comfortable learning new technologies and working across multiple platforms required.
- Proficiency in working within the digital ecosystem (experience with facilitating virtual meetings, troubleshooting technical issues, facilitating virtual breakout rooms, etc) required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously required.
- Ability to work independently and with a team that is virtual and in person required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment required.
- Well-developed analytical, interpretive, and evaluation skills complemented by a creative and entrepreneurial approach required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
