**Employment Opportunity**

Facility Operator

The Township of Puslinch is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to fill the position of Facility Operator with the
Public Works, Parks and Facilities Department.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform facility operations maintenance for the Township’s Parks and Recreation facilities, which includes the arena, ensuring safety of the facility and its patrons.
- Installation, maintenance, and removal of artificial ice.
- Ensure programs/events run as scheduled and in accordance with Township policies.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate records regarding the facility.
- Train and instruct staff in the safe operation of the facility and the use of related equipment.
- Oversee and assign job duties to part time facility staff.
- Purchase supplies and materials within approved budget in compliance with Township By-laws, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct playground inspections and maintain accurate and appropriate records relating to inspections.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as required.
- Be responsible to work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, the Township of

Puslinch Occupational Health, Safety and Workplace Violence Policy and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelines.
- Respond to after-hours emergency calls as required.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a facility/arena and in operating an ice-surfacer.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation including the Ontario Health and Safety Act.
- Sound judgment and excellent decision-making skills.
- Valid G driver’s licence in good standing.
- Good interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Computer experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Satisfactory Police Record Check required as a condition of employment.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate.
- Valid Propane Handling Certificate.
- Valid WHMIS Certificate.
- Class “B” Refrigeration Certificate.
- CIT designation.
- Playground Inspector Certificate.

**This position offers a comprehensive benefit package and an hourly range of $27.24 to $31.86 (2023 Rate).**
