Montréal, Canada CAE Full time

**Role and Responsibilities**

Reporting to the Chief Technology and Product Officer, the VP, Global Product Management will establish a new product function and discipline at CAE, building the team from the ground up, defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap using a common taxonomy. This is a greenfield opportunity to make a mark at this inflection point in CAE’s history and to play an influential role in driving its enterprise-wide digital transformation, partnering with stakeholders globally.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a key strategic partner to CAE Business units and verticals to stand up a global product management function. Set the strategy and establish the technology product roadmap and common taxonomy to achieve world-class, data-driven, and innovative solutions that deliver business results for CAE’s customers while building leading-edge technology at scale.
- Lead CAE’s product team to define the future business architecture strategies and technology capability models across SaaS & PaaS offerings.
- Assess the strength of the existing team and build a best-in-class organization of product leaders to drive the development of CAE’s product portfolio to meet our business objectives.
- Communicate the company’s product vision across the organization, serving as a key ambassador and educator of the product strategy and mission to key stakeholders globally.
- Serve as a partner to the engineering team to ensure internal alignment and a consistent feedback loop.
- Cultivate an environment that challenges the status quo and promotes a bias for change and action, all the while respecting and celebrating CAE’s company culture. Instill and advance a product culture based on innovation.
- Partner with the executive management committee to influence go-to-market strategies and delivery teams.
- Foster a culture of innovation by identifying new opportunities, driving experimentation, and staying ahead of industry trends.

Success Factors
- Establish and deliver product roadmap: Bring together an end-to-end global product roadmap to align with business objectives, position the organization as an integrated group, and efficiently utilize resources.
- Influence Go-to-Market Strategy and Delivery Teams: Establish a financial view of the portfolio and influence the go-to-market strategy while aligning with the product roadmap. They should also influence delivery teams to ensure they are aligned with the roadmap.
- Serve as a change agent and build strong, trusting relationships while educating the organization about the product and digital transformation. Success depends on the ability to drive change, build a team, and accompany CAE’s business units and finance functions along the journey.

Experience and Professional Qualifications

While technical knowledge is important, the ability to understand and influence how product and technology can be harnessed to effectively drive the business of the customers is critical. Specific experience to include, but not be limited to:

- Progressive product experience, having led a modern product management function in a SaaS and / or PaaS environment. Proven track record of developing a best-in class product organization.
- Has lived through a period of rapid transformational growth and served as a change agent to accompany the evolution, ideally in a digital & product-forward organization.
- Experience building, scaling and leading high-performing teams made up of product management, product development, and business architecture and driving a highly engaged team culture.
- Strong go-to-market execution knowledge, with experience building senior-level relationships with global customers; as well as partnering with sales and marketing to improve sales motion.
- Possesses the ability to drive a strong strategic and technical point of view that challenges the status quo and inspires thoughtful and productive debate. Demonstrated track record of building a culture of excellence and execution in order to deliver on tight deadlines for an ambitious roadmap.
- A hands-on, inspirational and active leader and mentor, who values teamwork and is capable of setting clear and measurable expectations for a high performing team; has ability to manage this team across multiple products simultaneously.
- Ability to lead through influence; successfully inspired teams outside of direct control, with the ability to gain buy-in throughout the organization.
- Experience instituting standards, procedures and methodologies; always looking for areas of improvement and better ways to execute the tasks at hand.
- Knowledgeable in the use of structured project methodologies and/or project planning tools.
