**Our Next Contract Specialist**

The Contract Specialist manages contractual agreements and relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors. They will draft, review, negotiate and liaise internally to ensure compliance with legal and company risk tolerance. They will collaborate effectively with all departments to ensure efficient contract processes. Position will be full-time out of Okane’s Calgary or Saskatoon office.

**Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities**
- Contract Administration: Maintain a database of all agreements, contracts, NDAs, and PO T&C’s inclusive of key terms, key contacts, certification/training requirements, reporting requirements, expiration and renewal dates, insurance term duration, and non-solicitation / noncompete requirements.
- Contract Evaluation & Negotiation: Review of all agreements (including licensing), contracts, NDAs and PO T&C’s against Okane’s risk tolerance, provide recommendations and support client and contractor commercial negotiations.
- Document and Signature Control: Facilitate the development of new agreement templates and modifications of existing templates, coordinate adherence to Okane’s approval authority process and manage/maintain digital signature tools.
- Legal Review: When a contract or specific clause requires additional clarification requirements, this role will coordinate legal review and recommendations.
- Translation: When a contract is provided in a language other than English, this role will coordinate translation requirements including certified translation if required.
- Client Database Management: Maintain Okane’s registration in client pre-qualifications systems, drafting pro-forma contracts and maintain files on change orders, contract amendments, insurance, WCB and other client notices.
- Project Management: Review of commercial proposals to support Business Development and Operations, both international and domestic.

**Job Requirements**:

- Completion of a related undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution. Procurement or paralegal certification is considered an asset.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in supply chain / contract management.
- Thorough understanding of contract management, including contract formation, terms and conditions, contract law and contract administration. Strong ability to interpret typical contractual provisions related to professional services.
- Ability to communicate effectively, consult, build relationships, facilitate discussions.
- Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
- Familiarity with integrative negotiation strategies.
- Familiarity with jurisdictional requirements, international experience an asset (e.g. Australia, USA).
- A curious and creative mindset with a strong internal desire to innovate and improve systems and processes.
