**Reports to**: Director of AI and AI Leadership Team
In support of SickKids 2025 and future strategies, the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is seeking a dynamic and innovative Program Manager to join our emerging AI Service. This service is responsible for guiding the responsible and effective deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies across the enterprise. The Program Manager will play a pivotal role in developing and scaling the AI Service to support research, education, clinical care, and operational excellence, managing a pipeline of high impact AI projects across the AI life cycle. Working as part of an entrepreneurial team, this position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of AI in an academic health sciences centre and to contribute to transforming how we deliver care, advance research, and support our community.
**Here is What You'll Get to Do**:
**Program Development & Execution**
- Participate in the design and ongoing enhancement of the AI Service (structure, function, components).
- Support the identification, design, and execution of projects within the AI Service, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Develop a roadmap for scaling the AI Service across the enterprise.
- Collaborate with key partners across the organization to define priorities, requirements, and success metrics.
**Governance and Compliance**
- Develop and implement frameworks and protocols for the responsible deployment and use of AI technologies across the AI life cycle, for in-house and inbound AI solutions.
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards, ethical guidelines, and best practices in AI deployment.
- Support the functioning of AI governance structures, liaising with broader organizational governance structures as necessary.
- Support the development of organizational policies to guide responsible use of AI technologies.
**Stakeholder Engagement & Communication**
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, educators, IT professionals, and executive leadership.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary teams to drive AI adoption and integration.
- Organize workshops, training sessions, education, and community engagement activities to promote understanding and responsible use of AI.
**Resource Management & Capacity Building**
- Identify resource needs, including staffing, tools, and infrastructure, to support the growth and sustainability of the AI Service.
- Develop and implement strategies for talent development, including training programs and partnerships with academic and industry leaders.
- Support the realization of commercialization opportunities to support AI Service sustainability.
- Monitor and manage budgets, contracts, and funding opportunities to support AI initiatives.
**Performance Monitoring & Reporting**
- Develop performance indicators and measurement tools to track the impact and outcomes of AI projects and initiatives.
- Prepare regular reports for governance structures, executive leadership, funders, and stakeholders to communicate progress, challenges, and successes.
**Here is What You'll Need**:
**Education & Experience**
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Health Sciences, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business Administration); Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in program or project management, preferably within healthcare, research, academic centres, health tech, or life sciences.
- Experience working with AI technologies, data science, and digital health initiatives is strongly preferred.
