Shipping Lead

Permanent, Full Time

**About the Job**:
Reporting to the Distribution Assistant Manager, the Shipping Lead is responsible for managing all outbound loads from our Georgetown Farms as laid out in the shipping schedules.

**Your Accountabilities**:

- Develop work schedules and assign tasks and responsibilities as it relates to the outbound schedule.
- Ensure proper daily staffing and equipment needs are in place.
- Oversee efficient loading of all products destined for our guests.
- Ensure correct and accurate paperwork is completed for each load.
- Manage multiple loading teams throughout the season.
- Communicate with Traffic team on loading progress.
- Communicate with Assistant Manager regarding staffing needs.
- Partner with assembly and labelling teams to ensure efficient loading and quality control.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Class G license
- Minimum year of supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of warehouse management systems
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- High standard of professionalism with excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Detail oriented, with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple demands, setting priorities, and exhibiting strong problem-solving skills
- Resourceful and self-directed with the ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with others to achieve goals
- Interpersonal skills to maintain respectful relationships with Garden Centre’s, freight carriers and departments within farm and Head Office.
- Background in horticulture or agriculture is preferred
- You are punctual and dependable, and highly value honesty, integrity, and authenticity
- Must have completed high school or equivalent and be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including some evening, weekends, and holidays as seasonal peaks require
- This job requires extended periods of walking and standing, as well as the ability to lift 50lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
