Supply Chain Coordinator
In taking on this role on our team, your primary task every day is simple - Maintaining our inventory levels to meet existing and forecasted demands, developing relationships with logistics teams and brokers to minimize costs and delays, and develop the systems to keep on top of all levels of supply chain.
Welcome to Centanni Tile. We are a family company, based in Burnaby BC, with over three decades of experience selecting high-end lines of tile & stone from Europe that speak designer’s language. We keep our target customer’s needs top of mind with our service and selections. Supplying design and architecture firms directly, helping end-users realize their dreams or through a select group of progressive dealers is our path to market. Our clients specify top-quality and unique products for their exciting projects and they are our laser focus. Everything we do is aimed at delighting our clients from the products we supply to our marketing tools right down to the way we answer our phones.
Are you someone that loves numbers, spreadsheets and reporting? Do you find the challenge of balancing inventory budgets with consumer demand fulfilling and exciting? Does the prospect of an open dataset with 37 years of history and the leeway to develop optimization systems excite you? Is the phrase “good enough” deeply offensive to you?
If so, working on our purchasing team at Centanni Tile is a perfect fit for you
In the end, you will be working directly with the management team to develop purchasing & inventory control systems and executing them, but in broad-strokes, our expectations are that you will:
- Understand purchasing, and the principles of inventory control, and have an aptitude to learn our system.
- be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, forecasting, determining EOQ, creating purchase orders in the quick books system, arranging freight minimizing costs where possible, communicating with the sales and warehouse departments, coordinating all aspects of item changes, calculating and maintaining Landed Costs, and ensuring timely resolution of supply issues and shipment discrepancies
- Along with the rest of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining the positive supplier and broker relations for which we are well-known, and you will keep an informed industry overview.
- Develop communication lines and processes to maintain them and enable reliable delivery date expectations.
Ideally, we’re looking for someone with the following experience and attributes but if you feel you’re the perfect fit for working with us at Centanni Tile without some of these assets - tell us why you think so
- Familiarity with ‘replenishment’ purchasing duties, and an understanding of inventory control and purchasing principles
- Minimum 3 yrs. purchasing experience, preferably in Tile distribution or construction related materials
- Possess strong communication and organizational skills
- An aptitude for numbers & details, with analytical and problem-solving capabilities required
- Proven ability with computers (Quick Books, Excel is a must, Outlook, etc...)
- Ability to preform custom and detailed reports
- Ability to work under pressure and with time constraints/deadlines
- Some experience coordinating freight is an advantage
