As a Support Personnel & Early Childhood Educator Assistant at Kentville After-School Program, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our after school children. We invite newcomers to join our team and contribute their rich experiences to the diverse tapestry of our center.

**Responsibilities**:

- Engage actively with children in outdoor and indoor activities and play.
- Prepare and supervise snacks for children.
- Follow and Assist Planning and organize age-appropriate activities based on children’s interests.
- Implement positive behavior guidance strategies.
- Maintain open and effective communication with coworkers.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Complete “Entry Level” certification (no cost; 16 online modules, completed by 6 months)
- Collaborate with other educators to create a positive and nurturing environment.

**Requirements**:
Passion for working with children and creating a stimulating, positive learning environment.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Preparedness for outdoor activities and changing weather conditions.
- Criminal record check with vulnerable sector check under 2 years old.
- Child Abuse registry check under 2 years old from the province of Nova Scotia

Valid Early Childhood Education certificate level 1 or above or enrolled in a recognized training program is an asset but not required.

Hourly Wage: As per Nova Scotia wage set by the Department of Education starts at $15.45/hour starting wage unless a classification certificate is attained.
