New Westminster, Canada Westminster House Recovery Centre for Women Full time

This position a full-time position that is focused on the direct delivery of the treatment elements of the recovery program of Westminster House Society. As the program has a substantial residential component, the employee must liaise in a professional and constructive way with the management team to ensure the women receive coordinated and cohesive support.

**Qualifications**:

- If in recovery, minimum three years ‘chemical-free living
- Minimum ICADC certification or equivalent
- Up to date experience working with the disease model of addiction
- Bio, psycho, social, and spiritual model
- Narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy and motivational interviewing
- Clear working knowledge of the 12 steps
- Group facilitation
- One to one counselling
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills and conflict resolution
- Ability to work unsupervised and with a team
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle or access to one

Position Duties:
Provided support to clients with complex care need in a sensitive and respectful manner to assist them with problem-solving, learning new skills, and improving relationships. Specifically:

- Max 10-person caseload
- Conduct client assessments
- Complete intake as needed and make referrals to alternate programs and services when necessary
- Coordinate the services and support required by clients, consult with addiction service providers on an ongoing basis
- Work with the team to develop and implement the client’s individual therapeutic program that will be carried out in group and individual sessions
- Provide guidance and prepare and implement the individuals’ program plan, after-care plan, and document interpretive summaries, and discharge summaries
- Responsible for caseload paperwork including intake preparation, admission forms, progress notes, progress reports, interpretive summary, client surveys, interim checklists, monthly health plans, discharge summary and alumni surveys for each client
- Attend to, mediate, and council the families and personal support network of the client in residence. Inform and educate the families to support of the process of recovery
- Consult with staff team in the development of program plans to address clinical areas of concern and/or problem behaviours as they arise. Work with the team to develop strategies to address areas of difficulty. Report and review client program progress and take part in daily staff briefings
