The Michener Institute is Canada’s only post-secondary institution devoted exclusively to the applied health sciences professions. In January 2016 the Michener Institute integrated with University Health Network and has become the Michener Institute of Education at UHN. **Position Summary**:

- Providing academic leadership, fostering an effective learning environment and upholding all professional, provincial and national standards
- Evaluating student progress and achievement, while providing student advisement and remedial assistance
- Liaising with other faculty and staff at the Michener Institute and personnel at affiliated clinical sites
- Participating in internal committees

Qualifications:

- MLT with a minimum of six years’ experience with in-depth expertise in molecular genetics and cytogenetics
- Capable of teaching introductory and advanced classes and labs (primarily in cytogenetics although other disciplines may be required based upon departmental need)
- Experience in using EPIC or similar LIS software is desirable
- Degree required, Master’s level education preferred
- Experience working/teaching in field within last 12 months preferred
- Certification by, and membership in, relevant professional association(s)
- Licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario
- Training and experience in adult education desired
- Skill in various teaching approaches and innovations including online/hybrid delivery modes
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with MS Office, presentation and curriculum design software
- Satisfactory Canadian Police Clearance document required upon hire
