Glass Consulting Services is a company that provides fibre design services for various telecom companies in Ontario.

**Job description**

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Subsidy and Field Operations, the OSP Designer will be responsible for conducting field surveys and pole line analysis to support the design of Fiber Optic networks.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate and undertake planning and implementation of survey requirements to facilitate construction activities. (Aerial and Underground)
- Complete pole line analysis (SpidaCalc, IKE GPS, Ocalc, QuickPole)
- Assists with the preparation and verification of various technical reports.
- Provides drawings and details in CAD-based platforms and other media to determine and display design criteria.
- Communicates with the Permit Department to gather and provide accurate information regarding construction design.
- Determine a method to design the plant changes to minimize related construction cost and ensures the quality of the design.
- Works closely with fiber designers, CAD Staff, Project Coordinators, and other internal resources to execute projects in a timely fashion, whilst maintaining budgetary restraints
- Operate and maintain equipment that could include a tablet computer, digital camera, various measuring tools, and Personal Protective Equipment.
- Attend customer meetings and perform site surveys or walk-outs as necessary to comply with customer requirements.

- Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, team player, and be adaptable.
- Strong time management skills.
- Must have a valid Ontario G Driver’s license.

**Experience**:

- 1-2 years experience with outside plant (OSP) design of utilities (i.e. Electric, gas, telecom, fiber optics, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Aerial and Underground designs, drawings, and specifications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of engineering design, and survey methods would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of customer database systems (i.e., NetX, iPairs, etc.)
- Survey or CAD experience is an asset.
- Safety conscious and able to adhere to a highly focused safety culture.

**Other Details**:

- Salary will be commensurate with experience
- A regular bonus will be awarded based on the productivity of the employee
- An additional bonus will be awarded based on the company's success
- Laptop and two monitors to be provided by Glass
- Regular training and interaction with peers
- Occasional work-from-home
