**JOB TYPE**:Full-time, Seasonal**
**WAGE**:$38.00 to $43.00 per hour**
**TRUCK ALLOWANCE**: $150.00 per day**
**PROJECT LOCATION**:Lac La Biche, AB**
**PROJECT SCOPE**:
**We have an exciting project in Lac La Biche, AB, from early July to October this year. This project involves clearing and grubbing the site, constructing and maintaining access roads, stripping topsoil and performing rough grading, installing liners and discharge pipes for stormwater ponds, preparing and maintaining foundations for large storage tanks, and finalizing the grading of roads and process areas for a clean and safe site. Additionally, there will be opportunities to cross-train at other projects throughout Western Canada, providing a chance to expand your skills and experience with our innovative and forward-thinking team.**

- The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating Paradox's equipment in a safe and competent manner. Heavy equipment may include rock trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, graders and other pieces of equipment. They must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies, and procedures.**HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE (RESPONSIBILITIES)**
- Competently operate the heavy equipment to load and unload equipment and move material
- Understand the load and work limits of the equipment model being operated
- Perform pre-trip inspections, daily safety and maintenance checks and action items accordingly (lubricate, grease)
- Advise the Supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repair required
- Identify and adapt to needs, deficiencies, and changes in the work plan and/or schedule
- Ensure equipment is always clean and complete routine maintenance is performed
- Ensure the equipment is safely and securely stored upon completion of use
- Work in adherence to safe work practices, procedures and work site or traffic laws
- Complete in a timely manner all required paperwork and submit to appropriate parties
- Report all incidents and near misses to the Supervisor immediately
- Operate all equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury and/or damage
- General site and housekeeping
- Other duties may be assigned as required
**DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES? (REQUIREMENTS)**
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience operating equipment
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and acceptable drivers Abstract
- Valid Standard First Aid with CPR, CSTS, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance II and OSSA certifications (asset)
- Be able to work independently while adhering to and maintaining a work schedule
- Be prepared to work in all weather conditions
- Physically able to perform job duties, including lifting to 50-80 pounds
- Be able to work as a team member and effectively communicate with co-workers
- Have a positive work attitude and function in fast-paced environments
- Willingness to learn, work overtime, long hours, and shift work
- Willing and able to work away from home for extended periods of time
- Successfully pass a Drug & Alcohol test and health assessment
- Experience loading trucks with an excavator
- Experience cutting rough or finish grade with an excavator in a safe and efficient manner
- Strong ability to cut to finish grade on ditches, berms, and slopes; all with a high level of precision.
