Librarians participate in the development of UNB Libraries programs, services, policy, and procedures. Responsibility for the coordination and management of staff, students, services or projects may be required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. **Representative Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Develops and delivers instruction (classes, workshops, presentations, and asynchronous learning objects) related to data analysis, data visualization, and general digital literacy to a multi-disciplinary audience, for researchers with varying levels of experience.
- Provides consultation and research support services for faculty and graduate students engaged in data-intensive research methodologies and tools or using tools such as data visualization.
- Works closely with other colleagues providing expertise in data services at UNB Libraries, including research data management and geographic information systems (GIS); providing leadership in areas of data specialization such quantitative data, qualitative data, and data visualization.
- Operates, maintains, and promotes visualization facilities and programming in the Data Visualization Lab.
- Provides instruction and training in data visualization techniques and software for faculty and students, including support for researchers in developing data visualizations for specific research projects.
- Serves as Economics Liaison Librarian, with responsibilities including teaching, collection development, and engaging in consultations with students and faculty regarding research skills, scholarly communication, and reference.
- Engages, builds partnerships, and liaises with academic programs involved in data-related research and instruction. Actively engages in conversations and forums around data analysis and visualization on provincial, national, and international levels.

**Qualifications**:

- MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent.
- Directly relevant academic background for the position's focus on Data Analysis, preferably with an academic background including Economics.
- Experience using one or more data visualization and analysis software packages such as Tableau, PowerBI, Gephi, Cytoscape, R/RStudio, Excel, SPSS, Atlas.ti, etc.
- Demonstrated understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience with a variety of analytical and statistical methodologies; demonstrated experience in data-based decision-making.
- Two years of experience relevant to this role, in either an academic library or data-focused environment.
- Demonstrated success in delivering effective presentations / instruction and use of data to support research.
- Excellent demonstrated data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent demonstrated communication, intercultural, interpersonal, and time management skills.
