OVERVIEW
- The CM Atlantic Managing Director is responsible for the efficient and cost effective management of the provincial Program office and staff as well as the CM NB program as the PPP delivery agent to the residents of NB. The MD is the primary interface between the national and local office. The MD in conjunction with the national office, is also responsible for the management of stakeholders affected by the program in NB as well as future programs in Atlantic Canada. This role will partner with the head of CM to act as the primary relationship manager with provincial Producer, regulators, supply chain partners and local community stakeholders, including media.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Delivers on the strategic priorities as outlined by the CM NB board of directors
- Acts as the primary CM relationship and service delivery manager ensuring the national, harmonization standards are adhered to while addressing the needs of the local programs in Atlantic Canada.
- Participate in the development of annual operating plans and budgets and ensure local program plan priorities are properly reflected in the annual planning process. Identify program program performance gaps.
- Oversee the administration of the regional program office budget.
- Direct the work of local personnel to ensure annual and program goals and commitments are being met, compliance is achieved and that local solutions are in line with national, harmonization standards.
- Provide support to the regional supply chain team to ensure that collection and diversion goals are met.
- Provide support to the development of P&E programs and lead the implementation of local P&E programs, relying on collateral materials from CM.
- Implement government/stakeholder relations strategies to ensure that the program plan is supported by municipal and provincial elected officials and staff and other local stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with national/corporate policies and frameworks.
- Provide market reconnaissance support by identifying potential Producer for prospecting follow up by the Chief Communications Officer (CCO).
- Maintain good relationships with provincial Producers and escalate issues to CCO and national account managers where necessary.
- Deliver regular reporting to CM CEO and regulators as required.
- Maintain good working relationships with important local stakeholders. Act as local spokesperson on issues affecting local stakeholders, including media.
- Oversee preparation of all agendas and materials for advisory committees and manage follow up.
- Provide input into the performance management process of supply chain staff and assist with the identification of training and support needs

- Establishes terms for contracts and other commercial agreements, within the standard form contracts designed by CM for the purchase of goods and services within budgetary limits.
- CM CEO approval is required for expenditures outside of the approved Budget.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:
- Post-secondary education related to general management or social/human sciences
- A professional designation or diploma relating to one or more of:
- Supply chain/procurement
- Communications/stakeholder relations/public relations
- Environmental sciences
**Experience**:
- At least 15 years of experience that involves exposure to:
- Supply chain management
- Municipal and/or provincial government
- Waste management
- Stakeholder relations or communications
- Organizational leadership
**Knowledge/Competencies/Skills**
- Knowledge of EPR policy and frameworks and related impacts on the marketplace, local governments, residents, intimate familiarity with Producer programs, waste management, materials management and logistics or related operational business activities.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Good verbal communications skills.
- Bilingualism (French and English) preferred
- Excellent relationship management skills.
