**What You’ll Be Doing**:
As a Technician, you will assist the Lead Trainer with preparing materials and equipment for hands-on training delivery. Working with a team of Instructors and staff, you will oversee inventory, equipment, and storage for the GROW New Entrant Training program. You will also assist Instructors with providing hands-on training to participants and ensure that health & safety protocols are being adhered to.

You will play a vital role in creating a supportive and enriching training environment for our participants, helping them develop the skills they need to succeed in their careers. Join us in making a difference through hands-on learning and mentorship

**What You’ll Be Responsible For**:

- Equipment Preparation, Inventory, and Maintenance:

- Prepare training equipment and tools for participants, ensuring they are in optimal condition for use.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance activities to keep equipment well-maintained and functioning efficiently.
- Perform safety inspections on equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Conduct inventory checks and oversee inventory trackers.
- Program Consumables & Participant PPE Management:

- Manage program consumables and supplies needed for training activities, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times.
- Coordinate procurement and replenishment of consumables as needed to support ongoing training sessions.
- Arrange for the Mr. Safety Shoe truck visit to provide participants with appropriate safety footwear.
- Manage the distribution and maintenance of participant PPE, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Hands-on Lesson Supervision:

- Actively participate in hands-on training activities alongside participants, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Demonstrate technical skills and share practical knowledge to enhance participants' learning experience.
- Connection Building and Mentorship:

- Build meaningful connections with participants, serving as a mentor and role model in the training environment.
- Support mentorship programs provided through our program, offering guidance and encouragement to participants.
- Classroom and Shop Area Management:

- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the classroom and shop areas, ensuring they are set up for daily activities.
- Coordinate with facilities manager to ensure proper maintenance of grounds and landscaping, aligning with Landscape Ontario standards.

**Requirements**:

- Experience with Landscaping and Horticulture Equipment and activities.
- Skid steer, counterbalance, AR licence
- Experience driving work vehicles and trailers.
- Experience working with small engines, tools, and equipment.
- Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with applicants, program participants, and staff.
- Strong organisational skills paired with the ability to be self-directed.
- Passionate for teaching and mentoring.
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented and demonstrated a strong work ethic.
- Ability to think creatively and take initiative.
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to a high level of customer service.
- Technical savvy with software tools (or willingness to learn).
- Demonstrated coaching skills.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace.
- Hands-on experience with equipment maintenance and repair.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations.

**About this position**:

- Reports to Lead Technical Trainer and/or Workforce Development Manager
- Landscape Ontario has a hybrid work model in place allowing for flexibility and fluidity in your weekly schedule.
- Our office is in Milton, ON at the 401 between James Snow Parkway and Trafalgar Rd.
- Will require travel with a truck and trailer.

**Salary and Benefits**:
