Temporary Opportunity: 2 Year Term

Location: These positions can be in any province in which SGI has branch locations. Hybrid and remote working arrangements are available, at the discretion of the hiring manager.

Multiple Positions:
Both HR Consultant positions will create and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance. These positions focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles, organization structures, mindsets and behaviors.

Key Accountabilities

Note: This section is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities - other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Preparing for Change- Applies a structured methodology and leads change management initiatives.- Assesses the scope and impact of the business change.- Conducts organizational readiness and change management assessments, and validates and communicates the findings of assessments with specific, targeted stakeholder groups.- Completes stakeholder analyses by identifying all stakeholder groups, including external groups, and the impact of the proposed changes in each group.- Works with senior leaders to understand the vision and define the people outcomes of change initiatives.- Develops change tactics and gains alignment with senior leaders and others to ensure support.- Influences stakeholders and senior managers on the change plan required to support a business change.- Leads the development of an overall change management strategy through collaboration with other work groups and divisions at all levels, customized to the stakeholder audiences, the nature and magnitude of the changes required and the constraints of the project.- Identifies, analyzes and prepares risk mitigation tactics.- Identifies and manages anticipated resistance.- Prepares the change management team, including change sponsors and senior leaders, for their roles in execution of the change management plans.

Managing Change- Consults with and coaches project teams in the development of the change management plans.- Develops detailed change management plans that include communications, resistance management, training, transition to business, coaching, and integrates change management activities into the project plan. Collaborates with resource groups to complete the plans.- Executes the change management plans by managing change management activities across all aspects of the project. Ensures the appropriate resources are brought in to execute on the change activities (i.e. Staffing, ER, etc.).- Develops tools as required to execute the planned activities.- Continually assesses progression of the change readiness by stakeholder groups and refines or supplements the change management plans as required.- Implements risk mitigation and adoption strategies.- Supports and engages senior leaders.-
- Evaluates and ensures user readiness.- Continually reassesses the change plan, approaches and tactics to ensure project success.

Reinforcing the Change- Leads the development of a reinforcement plan.- Coordinates change management activities at implementation to ensure that all planned activities are carried out smoothly.- Provides proactive support to leadership responsible for directly monitoring and reinforcing new behaviours.- Leads the development and execution of a user readiness evaluation.- Acts as a resource for leadership post implementation, to increase the level of adoption and respond to issues or barriers.- Works closely with the role responsible for benefits realization to monitor adoption and conducts investigations into unsatisfactory outcomes.

Organizational Change Management Development- Stays current with emerging practices in the field of organizational change management.- Determines and/or delivers required change management training for management and staff.- Collaborates with Corporate Communications to write communications to raise awareness of change management by all employees at SGI.- Manages the portfolio and change capacity at the organizational level.

Leadership- Actively contributes to and supports a culture of a high performing workforce.- Participates in divisional succession plans, ensuring ongoing professional and career development and supports development in others.- Supports a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively deliver on strategic and corporate strategies.- Is actively committed to leadership development across the company, supporting team and workforce readiness through mentoring, training and developmental opportunities.
