As an Underwriting Specialist, you will be driving the growth and development of Gallagher's niche portfolio, owning the full underwriting process end-to-end including; managing the underwriting process for new clientele, overseeing compliance to binding authority framework and management reporting for the business unit.

**How Will You Affect the Business?**
- Primary focus on the underwriting, managing and distributing of highly specialized Commercial products.
- Owning the binder/contract management process for the portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of renewals, endorsements and re-markets.
- Hands-on in re-marketing of large or highly complex accounts, working closely with Broker partners.
- Acts as primary driver in ensuring compliance to underwriting frameworks, functioning as the lead correspondent in the annual cover-holder audits.
- Participate in leadership meetings, brokerage planning and provide regular business updates.
- Proactively grow the department through strategy development and implementation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with our Insurer partners, creating opportunities for Product development.
- Provide support throughout the claims process as needed, working in tandem with brokers and claims functions.

**Education and Experience**College or University Degree or commensurate experience required.
- 3 years Commercial Underwriting experience required.
- Insurance Designations an asset (CAIB, CRM etc.) with a strong preference for the CIP.
