**Job Description**:
Under the direction of the Chair and Associate Chair, Information & Communication Technology - Security, Systems, and Networking, the Professor will be required to teach courses in the Bachelor of Information Technology - Network Technology program within the School of Advanced Technology
_. _The Professor will be responsible for facilitating and guiding learning and providing an effective learning environment for all students.

The professional responsibilities include:
The teaching of the assigned course, including:
- Delivery of regularly scheduled instruction on Wednesday and Friday afternoons;- Ensuring student awareness of course learning outcomes and instructional and evaluation techniques;- Providing a learning environment which makes effective use of available resources including educational technologies;- Evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the student’s work within assigned courses;- Providing a learning environment that is conducive to success for all students;- Consulting with the Professors responsible for the courses of instruction on the effectiveness of the instruction in attaining the stated program objectives.

The provision of academic leadership, including:
- Providing guidance to students;- Participating on consultative committees, and departmental/faculty meetings;- Liaising with community members, engaging in program, Department, School or Faculty, and College promotion;- Remaining current in the field of study and maintaining awareness of emerging trends and practices related to teaching and learning in higher education;- Modeling the College values - Caring. Learning. Integrity. Respect.

Required Qualifications- A current CCNA certification (or higher);- Ability to effectively teach learners about optimizing design with dynamic routing protocols, implementing and troubleshooting ACLs and NATs, configuring and troubleshooting IPv6 addressing, and implementing network management protocol for the purpose of monitoring.
- This position requires regular on-site work at Algonquin College’s Woodroffe (Ottawa) Campus.
