The Environmental Service Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of environmental services in accordance with applicable codes and regulations. This position includes responsibility for housekeeping and laundry services to the residents of the Nursing Home and dietary department support. The Environmental Service Coordinator fosters an environment, which promotes innovative and responsive service at all levels and through all departments.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensures resident housekeeping and laundry needs are met, evaluated and improved as appropriate.

2. Oversees housekeeping and laundry departments and assists in selection, orientation, and performance review

3. Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of housekeeping, laundry and dietary employee schedules reflecting changes as approved

4. Accountable for the safe work practices of the employees of the environmental service department (housekeeping and laundry). Conducts audits for quality of services provided

5. Responsible for the development and completion of audits that are outcome measured in the housekeeping and laundry departments. Required to summarize results and report improvement plans to the Administrator.

6. Assigns the monthly Environmental Walk-through Audit according to schedule. Receives results, reviews, summarizes and forwards required improvements to the Administrator

7. Completes quarterly reports for the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments and.

8. Coordinates and conducts meetings for the Housekeepers and Laundry Aides including the preparation of agendas and minutes.

9. Annual review and revision of policies and procedures for housekeeping and laundry. May be requested to review policies related to safety and infection control

10. Inventory management of supplies for housekeeping and laundry.

11. Oversees the process for Bed Entrapment Management Program

12. Provides back-up for the Food Service Manager as assigned (call-ins, food orders etc.)

13. Distribution and collection of dietary temperature checks weekly.

14. Other duties as assigned

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

Exposure to biochemical agents. Flexible to changing priorities. Frequent interaction with residents and employees. Prolonged periods of sitting. Available at times for emergencies. Required to handle frequent requests from staff regarding schedules.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

2. Experience and knowledge related to environmental services in a health care setting

3. Demonstrated degree of excellence in communication, leadership, initiative and interpersonal skills

4. Demonstrated computer skills to support clerical requirements of this position.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
