The Simulation Technical Assistant works collaboratively with members of the CSTAR (Canadian Surgical Technologies & Advanced Robotics) team and clients of CSTAR to plan, develop, and deliver simulation activities that accurately reproduce key elements for learning. Key responsibilities include the set-up and operation of technological, audiovisual and simulation equipment to support and maintain a safe environment for learners. This role is also responsible for maintaining documentation related to learning, research events and working with the Simulation Technical Consultant to ensure equipment and facilities are maintained in good working order.

Rate of Pay: $22.54 per hour - $28.18 per hour

Status: Tempuary Full-Time

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

**Qualifications**:

- College diploma or equivalent in Technology, Science or healthcare related with courses in Medical Terminology and Human Anatomy
- Certification: Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist - PREFERRED
- Minimum of 2 years related experience
- Advance electronic and mechanical aptitude with previous experience in a technical support service environment
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently
- Demonstrates accuracy and attention to details
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, ability to adapt and respond to in the moment needs
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, early mornings and evenings for course preparation and events
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

**Immunization Requirements**:

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
