**Department Description**:
Echo Lab UH

Reporting to the Coordinator, Non-Invasive Diagnostic Cardiology (NIDC) Department, the individual is required to perform adult transthoracic echocardiograms and assist Cardiologists in performing semi-invasive diagnostic procedures including Transesophageal Echo, Stress Echo, Contrast Echo and Pericardiocentesis using the digital echocardiography system. The NIDC department offers a wide range of diagnostic Cardiology procedures for both inpatient and outpatient populations.

Temporary Full-Time

Rate of Pay: $36.84 per hour - $50.24 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Duration of temporary assignment: March 8th 2024 - January 31, 2025

**Qualifications**:

- Currently registered with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario
- Minimum one year recent related work experience with Adult Echo
- Experience in all aspects of adult echocardiography
- Experience in scanning patients with complex congenital heart disease (CHD)
- Knowledge of complex cardiac pathology
- Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet Explorer, Outlook and Cardiac Information Databases
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated effective organizational skills involving time management and prioritization
- Ability to function independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to establish relationships with patients, families and members of the healthcare team
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
- Physically fit and able to perform the duties of the position
- Knowledge of patient privacy and confidentiality
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s vision, purpose and values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:
Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella (Chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
- Provide documnetation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
- Provide proof of Health-Canada approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective onf Ontario Health's current definition of being fully vaccinated
