Provide leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety Act are observed by employees. This includes planning the necessary resources in manpower and budgeting to accomplish site safety goals
- Interface with MOL and other governing health and safety agencies at local and federal level as required
- Follow up investigations working with Safety Committee, and others as needed or applicable
- Participate in the daily morning production meeting
- Preparation and implementation of training plans to provide employees with the necessary training to perform their job safely and effectively
- Ensure the Management System is effective and well understood by all employees
- Actively participate in the weekly scheduling meeting between maintenance and production
- A good understanding of the maintenance modules under the CMMS system (SAP 5.0 or Infor/Hexagon EAM)
- Ensures correct, accurate, and timely reporting of information on all maintenance Work Orders, including “Urgent Repairs”
- Aid in the development on the maintenance plan and oversee the execution of the daily maintenance plan
- Oversee necessary arrangements to keep plant running during breakdowns
- Routinely monitor key performance indicators identifying opportunities for improvement and making appropriate supervisory and management personnel aware of the findings
- Provide feedback to the maintenance team on goals and expectations
- Responsible for discretionary spending budget
- Leads the Maintenance program to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
