The Roberts/Smart Centre (RSC) is looking for enthusiastic, experienced and highly skilled Youth Counsellors to be a part of our team.
- **Creating Opportunities and Resources Against the Trafficking of Humans (CORATH) **_will provide 24/7/365 Anti-Human Trafficking Crisis Support and Mobile Treatment Services for victims and survivors. Community agencies can refer females and LGBTQ2+, ages 12 to 21, to the service, including self-referrals.

**The Opportunity**:
1. Respond and provide telephone/text and on-site crisis assessments, de-escalation, intervention and support to youth involved in/survivors of human trafficking

2. Coordinate admission to the CORATH _Stabilization and Intervention Program_ including referral to the place of choice of the client wherever possible, and assist clients in accessing the CORATH Treatment Team specialists as indicated.

3. Together with the Treatment Team, and using the Trafficking Stages of Change Model, assist in the development and implementation of client Treatment Plans.

4. Collaborate in the provision of counselling as specifically dictated by the treatment goals and the Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) model.

5. Assist clients in both the _Stabilization and Intervention Program_ and _Individualized Education & Life Skills Incentive Program._ Attend community appointments, and community referrals, as required.

6. Provide wrap-around treatment and support for the client including individualized mental health treatment, safety planning, harm reduction, complex special needs, and family/caregiver education and support and, together with partners, provide the guidance and oversight for live in placements.

7. Promote good public relations and healthy community partnerships and alliances.

**Qualification, skills, aptitude and ability**

1. Experience working with youth involved in human trafficking including supporting individuals affected by a variety of crises including loss, violence, abuse, crime and traumatic events.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and support a 24/7 crisis phone line and service required.
- Possess skills and experience in crisis assessment, intervention strategies, and crisis counselling/support.
- Demonstrated cultural competence for diverse populations including Indigenous Communities.
- Experience in addictions and harm reduction strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage conflict and crisis situations.
- Ability to communicate professionally with community agencies.
- Proven ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is an asset.
- Crisis intervention and prevention training is an asset.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.

This position is designated as female only.

**Un Jour à CORATH comprend**:

- Fournir un traitement et un soutien complets au client, y compris un traitement de santé mentale individualisé, une planification de la sécurité, une réduction des méfaits, des besoins spéciaux complexes, ainsi qu'une éducation et un soutien à la famille et aux soignants et, en collaboration avec les partenaires, fournir des conseils et une surveillance pour les placements en direct.
