Residential Construction Site Supervisor

Whitaker Construction is hiring a Residential Site Supervisor. We have an upcoming project in Prince Edward County and are looking for a skilled, passionate and communicative Residential Site Supervisor to work with us on an architecturally driven new construction project. Communication is a key skill needed to excel in this role, as you will be in constant communication with the Project Manager, Project Coordinator and assisting with the supervision and coordination of sub-trades.

**Responsibilities**:

- Daily on-site supervision of participating trades, coordination and monitoring
- Ensuring safety board, and site desk are organized with all necessary documents accessible (construction drawings printed, safety documents, etc)
- Ensuring daily monitoring of onsite work is aligned with current drawing packages
- Ensuring site protection and access for trades
- Establishing material take-offs, pickups and ordering of material as requested or needed, delivering materials and tools from storage to project sites
- Ensuring site safety, and that job sites are meeting OHSA safety standards as set by the Ministry of Labour
- **Ensuring good project housekeeping, that cleanliness standards are met**:

- Monitoring Project Schedule w/ Project Manager and coordinator to ensure project is on schedule and timelines are met
- Ensure finished surfaces are protected
- Prepare project report for a weekly production meeting, ensure Project Manager and coordinator are always aware of site happenings
- Monitoring internal humidity/temperature of project during build, document and send to PM
- Uploading progress photos to project management software
- Responsible for receiving and allocating of materials
- General labour, site cleaning, general carpentry, drywall repairs, etc.

Skills required:

- Ability to identify issues with finishes/structural problems before they occur
- Ability to read and analyze architectural drawings (structural, mechanical and interior)
- Excellent communication skills, and ability to concisely and accurately direct trades on site
- General knowledge of plumbing
- General knowledge of electrical
- General knowledge of HVAC
- Extensive knowledge of Structural Framing/Steel Erection and finish Carpentry/joinery
- Strong Carpentry Skills
- Ability and willingness to execute work (framing, electrical, plumbing, demolition) when required

Soft Skills Required:

- A Site Supervisor is a leader, you must be able to support the team and trades in the field
- A Site Supervisor is an extension of our company Brand and is expected to be professional, personable and polite with our trades, team, and clients/neighbours
- Ability to take constructive criticism, and receive feedback in a positive manner
- A positive influence on job sites, encourage those around you to go above and beyond expectations, there is always room for improvement
- Calm, cool, and collected, things can get stressful sometimes, being able to stay calm and perform under pressure is imperative to custom home building and team projects
- Solution-based, ability to tackle problems head-on and find viable solutions
- Communicative
- Problem and conflict resolution skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
