**Prosthetic and Orthotic Department, Outpatient Rehabilitation**

**Position**: Student Temporary FT (12 weeks)

**Reports To**: France Spencer, Coordinator Rehab Business Development

**Manager**: Nicole Graham, Clinical Manager Outpatient Rehabilitation

**Job Summary**:
Assists the Prosthetic and Orthotic Team to provide services to both inpatients and outpatients, and work collaboratively with health care professionals in the fabrication, design and repair of all devices.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Assist with assembly and build of artificial limbs and braces.
- Participate in the design of these devices to meet the specific needs of clients.
- Supervised utilization of molds, tracings, and written and verbal instructions to fabricate each custom device.
- Ensure all chemicals are stored properly and that Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies are followed and reviewed.
- Ensure a safe work environment, maintain education and handling procedures of hazardous and toxic materials used in the manufacturing process, and ensure a suitable inventory is maintained.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Education Required**:

- Minimum Year 1 Post-Secondary Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician program from an accredited college.

**Experience Required**:

- No minimum experience required outside of college program/placement.

**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required**:

- Familiarity with manual and power tools needed in the delivery of technical work in a prosthetic and orthotic lab environment.
- Excellent computer and communication skills.

**Language**:

- Excellent English; both verbal and written

**Start Date** - June 5, 2023 **End Date** - August 18, 2023

**Salary **$16.50
$17.00 / hourly
