The Sentence Administration Unit manages and accurately interprets complex legal documents pertaining to holding and releasing of inmates received from various stakeholders including courts, policing agencies, sheriffs, the judiciary etc.

**Role**:

If so, we currently have a permanent full-time Sentence Administrator position at the Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Centre available

Interested applicants, please take note: the Sentence Administration Unit has two shifts one beginning at 08:15 am ending at 4:30 pm and the other starting at 10:45 am ending at 7:00 pm
- Preparing, managing and updating inmate legal files
- Complex sentence calculations
- Interpreting complex legal documents & dispositions prepared by the court to ensure lawful detention or release of an accused
- Liaising with Sheriffs and Court stakeholders to coordinate the transportation of inmates to their court dates
- Data entry within ORCA, I-Request, Justice Online Information Network (JOIN), Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) systems
- General administrative responsibilities.
- Acting AS6 supervisor in the absence of the AS6 Supervisor.

**Qualifications**:
High school diploma with a minimum of at least three years of experience working in a criminal justice environment is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required. Experience with Government systems such as JOIN, ORCA, EMDT or CPIC is an asset. Previous experience reading and interpreting legal documents is also considered an asset.

Equivalency: Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.

Preference will be given to those with post-secondary education in Criminal Justice or Legal Administration, and previous sentence administration experience

**Salary**:
$1,884.99 - $2,307.87 bi-weekly ($49,198 - $60,235/ year)

**Notes**:
There is one full-time permanent position available. Standard hours are 36.25 hours per week.

The Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Centre is located at 7802 101 Street, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta T8L 2P3. There is no public transportation to the Centre.
