**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
The Globe and Mail is seeking a full-time content editor on our programming team who is focused on business and financial content. This team’s mission is to ensure readers find The Globe’s journalism at a time, in a place and in a format that they want it in. Anticipating and listening to the audience’s needs as well as experimentation is core to what we do.

We are looking for an adaptable editor with strong news judgment and a good understanding of the Canadian business landscape. You must be comfortable editing stories and making smart programming decisions across all platforms, including our website, newsletters, push alerts and newspaper.

This position will work in collaboration with senior editors across the newsroom, as well as the wider programming and audience team, to help determine which business stories we should be prioritizing each day and how we should be promoting them. You will also be a part of producing our upcoming Business Briefing newsletter and help drive its success.

**RESPONSIBILITES**:

- Determining stories that will appear at the top of our website and other platforms
- Editing and coordinating breaking news stories
- Writing SEO-friendly and engaging headlines
- Writing push alerts
- Producing our new Business Briefing newsletter
- Using audience data to spot opportunities and inform decisions
- Suggesting stories we should be covering
- Looking for opportunities to experiment

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum five years experience working in digital media
- Strong understanding of business and financial news
- Suited for a fast-paced environment, with a willingness to experiment.
- Clear communicator

The Globe offers a hybrid work environment. This position requires working early morning hours and potentially some weekends. It will be based in our Toronto office and you will be required to come into the office a minimum of two days a week.
**SALARY**: This position is classified under Group C of the Editorial Collective Agreement.
