**Eligible applicants**:Due to the funding of these positions under Canada Summer Jobs all successful applicants must be between the ages of 15-30 and be either a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or an individual who has been granted refugee status in Canada.

**Position Description**:
Under the direct supervision of the YWCA Community Programs Coordinator PBG Camp Leaders will plan, prepare, and deliver the facilitation of the Power of Being a Girl (PBG) summer day camp program, and are responsible for participants’ supervision and welfare during the duration of the camp, July 08 - Aug 02 Monday to Friday 9am-4pm daily. The Camp Leaders create an exciting, inclusive, and engaging environment for vulnerable and at-risk girls and nonbinary campers by carrying out the YWCA’s core values, policies, and procedures. Camp leaders will develop exciting, action packed, and leading-edge programming focusing on igniting the potential of girls through their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. The PBG Camp Coordinator will have the opportunity to increase their professional communication skills, increase their knowledge in program development, and familiarize themselves with the population YWCA Regina serves from a trauma-informed lens.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan engaging, active, and fun activities that are age appropriate for PBG Camp (ages 6-16), 4 x 5-day urban summer day-camps;
- Actively engage campers in activities and act as a mentor and lead by example to unlock each campers potential;
- Program preparation, including schedule outings, designing activities and purchasing all program supplies;
- Implementing all aspects of the program safely and effectively while maintaining a safe space for a total of 120 campers;
- Support and provide leadership to volunteers and collaborate with other camp leaders and YWCA staff;
- Ensuring camper's welfare and safety throughout programming and supervise all activities following emergency procedures;
- Ensuring camp space is tidy and clean at the end of each day and spaces are ready for the next day;
- Assist with camp evaluation and year-end reporting.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working with children and youth, especially at-risk children and youth in a team environment;
- Knowledge and experience in facilitating programming for children and youth such as outdoor recreation, field games, crafts, during transportation, and other summer activities
- Experience planning camp outings and activities that support the health and mental wellness of children;
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture, history, and practice, as well as evidence of engagement with andcommitment to Indigenous community buidling
- Skills in problem-solving and responding appropriately to incidents as they arise with empathy and compassion;
- Satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable sector check and Valid CPR/First Aid certification;
